Standing beside Jökulsárlón on a cold winter night, I watched the northern lights grow stronger with every passing minute. What began as a faint glow soon transformed into vibrant ribbons of green and pink stretching high into the Arctic sky.
The display reminded me instantly of Bifröst, the mythical rainbow bridge of Norse legend said to connect the realm of gods with the world of humans. The aurora seemed to rise directly from above the glacier, creating a luminous pathway between earth and heaven.
