About the Photoshoot

There is a quiet harmony in this scene at Stokksnes, where Vestrahorn Mountain meets a perfectly still stretch of water. A small opening in the clouds allows a soft glow of pink light to emerge, almost as if the mountain itself were breaking through the sky.

The water creates a remarkably clear reflection, mirroring the mountain and the subtle colors above. In the foreground, a few scattered stones rest peacefully in the shallows, completing the composition and adding a sense of balance and stillness.

The landscape is otherwise defined by shades of grey and blue, with a delicate touch of pink bringing warmth to the scene. This understated palette gives the photograph its distinctive character, capturing a fleeting moment of natural beauty in a soothing and harmonious way.

About Vestrahorn Mountain and Stokksnes

Located on Iceland’s southeastern coast, Vestrahorn is one of the country’s most distinctive mountains. Its dramatic, jagged peaks rise above the dark sands of the Stokksnes peninsula, creating a striking contrast between rugged mountains, open coastline, and the North Atlantic sky.

Stokksnes is a favorite location for Iceland landscape photography, known for its expansive views and ever-changing light. When conditions are calm, shallow water along the shoreline can reflect the surrounding mountains and sky, transforming an already dramatic landscape into something remarkably peaceful.

In Resting in Reflection, this iconic Icelandic scenery takes on a gentler character. The still water, muted tones, and soft pink light reveal a quieter side of Vestrahorn, offering a different perspective on one of Iceland’s most photographed landscapes.
