About the Photoshoot

Some moments in nature are beautiful precisely because they cannot last. The northern lights shift and fade across the sky, while a shooting star appears for only a brief instant before disappearing into the darkness. To witness both at once is a matter of extraordinary luck.

Photographed on a winter night in Iceland, Fleeting Light captures one of those rare encounters. The shooting star leaves a delicate streak across the sky as the aurora glows above the snow-covered landscape. It was a fleeting moment, and being there with a camera ready made it possible to preserve it.

About Þingvellir National Park

Iceland’s winter landscapes take on a quiet, almost otherworldly character after dark. Snow softens the contours of the land, while streams wind between the frozen banks and dark volcanic rocks. Near Þingvellir, the landscape reveals a subtle beauty that can be easy to overlook during the day.

Beneath the night sky, this familiar landscape becomes something extraordinary. The green aurora brings movement and colour to the darkness, while the still water and snow-covered ground create a sense of calm.

About this Print

Fleeting Light is an image about quietness, chance, and the beauty of being present. The serene winter landscape provides a sense of stillness, contrasting with the ever-changing aurora and the brief passage of the shooting star.

There is a particular kind of luck in witnessing a moment that may never unfold in quite the same way again. This photograph preserves that feeling of wonder—a reminder that some of nature’s most remarkable experiences are also its most transient. In a living space, its cool winter tones and gentle light bring a sense of serenity, inviting a moment of pause and reflection.
